Chakras
are "energy" wheels located in key places in the body. Found in many
eastern philosophies, Chakras are expressed in the mandalas of Hinduism and
Tibetan art work. Acupuncture and Reiki both work with the concept of
Chakras and energy planes in the body. As this picture indicates, there are seven major recognized Chakras (word is that there is an eighth Chakra just above the top of the head, but we won't cover that yet.) and many minor Chakras. |
| There are three "Lower Chakras" and four "Upper Chakras." The lower are associated with the physical plane, the upper with the spiritual. Each Chakra represents a different set of issues or needs for the human spirit. The following pages explain each Chakra in more detail. | |
